What Is a Mystery Bounty Tournament?

In a standard bounty tournament, each player has a fixed bounty prize on their head. Knock them out and you collect it. Mystery Bounty works differently: the bounty values are randomised and hidden. When you eliminate an opponent, a prize is revealed at random. It could be a small amount or a significant score. The variance makes these events popular with recreational players and grinders alike.

GGPoker introduced the Mystery Bounty format widely in 2022, and it has become the default big event format across most of their Alberta series. For the Bounty Hunters Series, roughly half of each buy-in goes to the main prize pool and the other half funds the bounty pool that gets distributed as mystery prizes.

What Is the Bounty King Format?

The daily Bounty King events use GGPoker's proprietary Big Bounties format. Each player starts with an individual bounty on their stack. When you eliminate a player, you win their bounty plus a portion goes into a growing jackpot. The player with the most accumulated bounty points at the end of each day wins the "Bounty King" daily leaderboard title, with additional prizes from the $1M series leaderboard.

Daily Leaderboard

GGPoker has boosted the Bounty Hunters Series Daily Leaderboard to $1M across the full series (global + Alberta). Alberta players earn points in Alberta-specific events. Each day, the top bounty hunters share over $40K in prizes, and the top daily scorer earns the Bounty King title. Full leaderboard rules are on ggpoker.ca.
