GGPoker Bounty Hunters Series, Alberta edition

What we expect from the Alberta version of GGPoker’s flagship bounty series after the regulated market opens on July 13, 2026. Specific dates, guarantees, and headline events will be confirmed once GGPoker goes live in the province.

What the Bounty Hunters Series is

Bounty Hunters Series, or BHS, is GGPoker’s recurring progressive-knockout festival. It runs on .com and on the regulated Ontario platform several times a year with a few hundred events and total guarantees in the seven figures. Each event uses a progressive bounty format, where part of every player’s buy-in goes onto their head and is paid out when they are eliminated.

Past series in other jurisdictions have included sub-series like Bounty Hunters Mini, Bounty Hunters Main, and a Mystery Bounty headline event. We expect GGPoker to bring a similar structure to the Alberta-licensed platform after July 13, 2026.

Why no Alberta dates yet

Alberta’s regulated online poker market is not yet open. The iGaming Alberta Act (Bill 48, 2025) created the legal framework, and the Alberta iGaming Corporation has set July 13, 2026 as the launch date, with a possible extension to October 13, 2026. Until GGPoker has a live AGLC-registered platform in the province, no Alberta-specific BHS schedule exists. Anyone publishing exact Alberta dates today is guessing.

This page exists to set expectations and to be the place we publish the real schedule once GGPoker confirms it. We will not invent dates, guarantees, or seat counts in the meantime.

What we expect at launch

Based on what GGPoker has done in Ontario and on .com, here is the structure we expect to see in Alberta. None of these figures are confirmed for Alberta:

  • A Bounty Hunters Series running for two to four weeks at a time
  • Total guarantees in the C$1M to C$3M range, ring-fenced to Alberta players
  • Daily progressive-knockout events with buy-ins from roughly C$5 to C$210
  • A headline Mystery Bounty Main Event with a six-figure guarantee
  • Multi-step satellites starting from C$1 to C$5 sub-satellites
  • Possibly a Sunday flagship knockout edition during the series window

What you can do today

If you are an Alberta resident interested in playing GGPoker once it goes live, the practical pre-launch steps are:

  1. Make sure you can verify Alberta residency (ID, proof of address)
  2. Decide which payment method you will deposit with
  3. Read GGPoker’s Ontario terms as a best guide to what its Alberta terms will look like
  4. Bookmark this page or our GGPoker Alberta review
  5. Set a deposit limit plan before you create an account on launch day

How we will update this page

Once GGPoker publishes an Alberta BHS schedule, we will replace the "Expected post-launch" framing on this page with the real dates, guarantees, satellite ladders, and qualifier tickets. Each update will note the date it was added so readers can see how the page evolves.
