Why Only Regulated Rooms?
AiGC advises players to "Make the safer choice and play on sites offered by fully registered and approved Operators in Alberta." That's our editorial policy too. We won't list unregulated rooms.
Alberta's private market opens July 13, 2026 under the iGaming Alberta Act (Bill 48). Until that date, PlayAlberta.ca is the only legal regulated option in the province. The six operators we cover are expected to apply for AGLC registration and go live at or after July 13, 2026 — none are confirmed yet.
When the market launches, each registered operator must use AGLC's Centralized Self-Exclusion (CSE) system, provide quarterly limit reminders, and send monthly account statements. Operators fund player-protection programs at 1% of gross gaming revenue. These rules are why the regulated market is the right choice.
