What I cover
- Fact-checking. Every operator claim, every regulatory citation, every dollar figure on this site is checked against the underlying source before publication. If it is not source-able, it does not appear.
- Market data. Alberta-specific market sizing, traffic indices, rake economics, and rewards-programme analysis.
- Regulatory frameworks. Bill 48, the AGLC Internet Gaming Standards and Requirements, FINTRAC obligations, and the operator-registration process.
- Player-value analysis. Bonus terms, rakeback structures, leaderboard mechanics, and the difference between headline and effective value.
How I check
Every claim on this site falls into one of three categories: verified to a primary source, reasonable estimate with the source identified, or forecast that is labelled as such. The verified category does most of the work. Primary sources we use most often: AGLC’s published Standards and Requirements, the Alberta iGaming Corporation operator list, the AGLC Annual Report, Statistics Canada quarterly population estimates, and the operators’ own published terms and conditions.
If a claim cannot be verified, it gets pulled or relabelled. If a claim later turns out to be wrong, the change goes in the corrections log with date, original wording, and corrected wording.
